Progress is not only about physical skills. It is, above all playing in your head. That moment when you know that you are closeBut something is holding you back. Fear of falling, of injury, of failure. Your body stiffens, your breathing becomes shallow and your heart pounds like mad.
👉 And this is completely normal. Your nervous system does this to protect you.

How to tackle it? Let's embrace progression.
1. Calm the system. Breathing is your anchor.
When you feel anxiety taking over - stop and take a few breaths 4-7-8 method:
Inhalation through the nose - 4 seconds,
Respiratory arrest - 7 seconds,
Exhale through the mouth - 8 seconds.
This activates the parasympathetic nervous system and literally calms your brain - from fight/flight mode to 'I've got it under control' mode.
2. Adapt the manoeuvre to the conditions.
Don't learn new tricks in chaos. Too strong, gusty winds are the worst partner for progression.
💨 About to try kiteloop for the first time? Wait for the wind 18-20 knots, preferably fixed side-onshore. Lighter = safer.
A trick that theoretically you can, you may end up with a violent crater if you do not take the conditions into account.
3. opt for a step-by-step progression.
Rather than throwing in the whole thing:
🔁 Start by practising the components.
Want to learn darkslide?
First practice alone buttcheck (controlled landing on the buttocks), then controlled descent from the board, and only then try a full rotation and a smooth ride.
This gives you time to get used to the movement and eliminates that irrational "what if?" fear.
4 The role of the coach at ProCamp is crucial.
🧠 Coach sees more than you. It will recognise micro mistakes that lead to frustration or failed attempts.
🧘 Will help you manage stress, select conditions, ensure safetyand - just as importantly - will give you feedback at exactly the right moment.
It's a huge difference between doing something yourself and learning with someone who has the experience and tools.

Progressive fear is not the enemy. It is a signal that you are entering a new level.
Invite him to work with you - through breathing, training, planning and a supportive environment.
This is how you build confidence ... and sustainable progression 💥
